“It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.”
Being a nature lover & hiking enthusiast, I have traveled many places around the world. Here are some of my best hiking and trekking adventures.
Chadar Trek, India

Chadar trek is one of the most adventurous treks situated in Zanskar region near Leh, India. The entire trek is done on the frozen river and the temperature goes to minus 30 degrees Celsius. Surviving at such an extreme climate is a real challenge. I am so happy to have completed this 60km long 5 chilling days and freezing nights trek. It’s impossible to describe all the details in 3-4 lines. Therefore stay tuned, I will be posting a detail blog on Chadar Trek.
Peguyangan Waterfall Nusa Penida

This jaw-dropping paradise is situated on the southwest coast of Nusa Penida. Peguyangan is undoubtedly one of my favorite spots on this earth. And I am so glad that it is actually a tourist attraction because normally places like these go undiscovered, but here the approach path is quite manageable though risky.
Firstly, this is not a traditional hiking place where you climb up but here you rather climb down through the gorgeous blue stairs (around 800 – 900) to reach the coastal area of this Blue and Greenish Sea. The stairs are really steep and they have large gaps too. So you need to be very careful.
Secondly, it is a holy place, there is a small waterfall and a peaceful temple therefore Sarong is a must here. In case you don’t have one, you can take it on rent from the vehicle parking attendant.
Peguyangan Waterfall deserves a detailed blog, isn’t it? Stay tuned for complete information in the meanwhile if you have any queries shoot them in the comment section
Tab Kak Hang Nak, Thailand

Firstly, I just loved this one! Krabi is not only about beaches but stunning mountain peaks as well. The view from that rock was just amazing.
It is also called ‘Dragon Crest’ a must visit place for adventure lovers, situated near about 30 minutes drive from the famous Ao Nang beach in Krabi.
The trail offers many breath-taking views and will surely quench your thirst of doing something unique. Trekking to the peak was overall moderate to difficult, you should be able to finish this trek in somewhere around 5-6 hours. My recommendation is to start this hike as early as possible so that you can utilize the maximum sunlight. Nevertheless, I started quite late in the afternoon and eventually descended by evening after sunset. Unfortunately, my phone was dead and I didn’t carry extra torch (my bad). Walking through the Jungle in the dark was a horror scene for me, I just wanted to get back to the trek starting point all safe and sound. How can I forget that chirping sound of birds or may be snakes who knows!
Ancient Thera, Greece

Ah! Let’s spare a minute for this Blue landscape! Okay so if you are in Santorini, this ancient and antique city of ruins is worth a visit. The ruins include temples, houses with mosaics, an agora (market), a theatre and a gymnasium which are very well preserved.
It is quite windy at the top. The spectacular view of the island is a treat for eyes. However, the approach road is quite frightening with around 20 hairpin bends so just be very careful while driving. You can buy the tickets hassle free near the parking space till 2:30 pm at 4€. Ancient Thira is open everyday for visitors except for Mondays.
Tiger Cave Temple, Thailand

Tiger Cave Temple is a very famous hiking/climbing spot in Krabi Thailand, it a Buddhist temple known for the tiger paw print on the cave.
There are about 1237 steps leading to the summit here some of the steps are more than a foot (30 cm) high and that’s what makes this trail a challenging one.
One golden piece of advice is be careful with the monkeys there is a full army of monkeys roaming around the steps making it funny and scary at times.
Eiffel Tower, Paris

Well I know Eiffel Tower is not a hiking point but climbing those stairs of Eiffel tower was my long-time fantasy and it was such an enjoyable experience, I couldn’t help including this masterpiece in the list!
While Eiffel Tower does have an elevator facility right from the ground floor, you can always opt for staircase till the second floor i.e. around 377 ft and exactly 669 steps thereafter you have to take the elevator and purchase a ticket to reach at the topmost floor of this gigantic monument.
Königstuhl, Germany

Königstuhl is a high hill in the Odenwald mountains in the city of Heidelberg, best known for the sunset views and snow-covered trails during winters. I would like to emphasize that Königstuhl hills is an endurance testing hike. For instance, we literally got tired of walking through rough trails (plenty of uneven stairs too). It felt like a never-ending one!
However, you will be delighted to see the whole Heidelberg city from the top and Mannheim too (if the sky is clear). And guess what there is a nice secluded restaurant too.
ProTip – Don’t mix it with any other plans as it is undoubtedly a full day hike.
The best part about this hilltop is, it is accessible by train and cable cars too so if you are not in a mood to hike, you can buy go for the train ride or cable car and reach here within a couple of minutes.
Bastei, Germany

Bastei is known for the jagged groups of sandstone rocks located in Saxon Switzerland National Park. It holds a special place in my heart as this was my first international solo hiking. Bastei is really famous among hikers and is one of the finest hikes in Germany and I won’t mind exploring it again!
Guys this is worth adding to your list, just ensure the weather is pleasant. You got to switch trains and a boat to reach the base village Bastei. Stay tuned for a complete guide on this, coming in a short while.
Matanga Hills, India

Matanga hill is located in Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage site in east-central Karnataka, India. I thoroughly enjoyed the teeny-weeny hike and the sunrise moment from the top of the Matanga hill. Needless to say, Hampi is a very popular traveler’s paradise in India. The nearest airport is around 160km at Hubli.
The climb is somewhat scary (no railing) but worth the panoramic view from the top. It’s a must visit if you are in Hampi.
Chembra Peak, India

Chembra Peak is one of the highest peaks in Wayanad district around 6890 ft above sea level. The nearest airport is at Kozhikode which is around 90km from Chembra peak.
Start early around 6am to avoid hassle for buying the trekking passes.
By the way, I got some leech bites and a silencer burn on my calf, but overall it was an epic experience.
Unfortunately trekking in the Chembra Peak is not allowed anymore due to the orders of the Kerala High Court.
Okay Guys, Which is your favorite hiking spot and how was your experience? have you been to any of the above hiking or trekking trails?
